What do you mean by ovarian rejuvenation?

The ovaries have a fixed reserve, i.e., they selectively ovulate every month with a limited number of primordial follicles. These follicles can get depleted even at an earlier age leading to decreased ovarian reserve or premature menopause. With latest research , it is possible to inject a part of the patient’s autologous blood which contains growth factors, directly into the ovaries, in turn stimulating the dormant follicles. This science is already in practice in dermatology and orthopedics.

Our story

We at Queen’s Gynecology are proud to present ovarian rejuvenation for the first time in Max Smart Superspeciality Hospital, Saket, Delhi. Our patient was a middle aged woman, with perimenopausal symptoms and altered hormonal profile. We are grateful to Max Smart Superspeciality Hospital Blood Bank in providing us all the support in PRP preparation. PRP, an elixir, also called as “ liquid gold” has been used by clinicians for several decades especially in dermatology and orthopaedics. Recent research supports its role in ovarian rejuvenation also.
